    2012 Ram 1500

    The 2012 Ram 1500 is the rich harvest of a four-year deep-dive into what a truck should be, and what a truck has never been.     The 5.7L HEMI® V8 with Fuel Saver Technology+ isn't just strong, it's also remarkably efficient. Standard on Ram 1500 Express and Tradesman™, this 20 MPG engine boasts the power of 390 horses. Also standard on the Laramie Longhorn®, Big Horn, Lone Star, Sport and Laramie®, the 5.7L HEMI V8 boasts up to 9,800 pounds of towing capacity+. But all that power won't go to waste. When the conditions are right, the 20 MPG engine becomes a fuel-sipping four-cylinder.

    Whether you carry your weight in a trailer or your cargo box, Ram Heavy Duty masters towing and hauling. To help you carry the load, the enhanced 6.7L Cummins® High Output Turbo Diesel engine generates an unsurpassed 800 pound-feet of maximum torque+ and boosts maximum towing capacity to 22,750 pounds+.

    The Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel engine is available with an automatic transmission featuring electronic range select and tow / haul mode.

        

    The workhorse 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine has been a jobsite staple for years, and for a good reason: it brings exceptional power and durability to the biggest, toughest jobs. And on the Ram 3500, that trusted diesel performance comes standard.

   

    2012 Ram 2500 3500

    Ram 2500 and 3500 are built with sturdy hydroformed frames (the stiffest in Ram truck history) and capable four-wheel drive options to handle the toughest jobsite terrain. To smooth out the ride, fluid-filled hydromounts on the cab help isolate the cabin from the road.

   

    Ram Heavy Duty trucks are available in three cab configurations including a Crew Cab configuration. Their roomy seating and versatile storage features rival the utility of their cavernous cargo boxes.

        


 
                
                                               

 

    2012 RAM Chassis Cab

    With 7x11-inch folding trailer tow mirrors, a chrome crosshair grille for improved engine cooling, and triple-sealed doors (an industry first for heavy duty trucks), the 2012 Ram Chassis Cab exterior comes engineered to get any job done right. All with the signature Ram truck design and easy-to-upfit 34-inch frame rail spacing.

               


    Ram Chassis Cab interiors offer many available comforts so you can take a load off after a long day on the job. Detailed craftsmanship can be seen throughout because, after all, your vehicle is a rolling statement about your business. For example, the upgraded interior features a soft-touch instrument panel and door trim, plus detailed stitching on the seats and throughout.

    Ram Chassis Cab trucks feature a standard 52-gallon fuel tank, giving them Best-in-Class standard single fuel tank capacity+ and a serious long distance range between fill-ups. An auxiliary fuel port provides easy connections for auxiliary fuel-driven power sources. The available 22-gallon mid-ship auxiliary tank better accommodates rollback carrier upfits. A B20 biodiesel package is also available for fleet customers.


           

 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs are available in a wide range of capabilities and cab configurations because when it comes to business, "one size fits all" doesn't fly. All models are built with an industry-standard seven-pin wiring harness, and 4500 and 5500 models feature Best-in-Class+ front-end tow hooks.

             

    Proven Cummins® power has been a jobsite regular for years because it's durable, efficient, quiet and clean. It's the only diesel that meets more stringent Air Resource Board (ARB) state emission standards, thanks to the diesel exhaust fluid system. This means Chassis Cabs can idle indefinitely at a jobsite so you can use their HVAC and electrical features. The competition can't say the same.

Transmission choices

Ram Chassis Cab offers a variety of engine and transmission combinations so you can configure a powertrain that meets your needs. The automatic transmissions feature Electronic Range Select and Tow / Haul mode.

Electronic Range Select allows the driver to manually limit the highest available transmission gear, thereby allowing manual upshifts and downshifts based on road speed and engine speed.

Tow / Haul mode improves vehicle performance and fuel economy while minimizing engine noise during trailer towing or heavy-load hauling. When Tow / Haul mode is selected, a revised shift schedule is used to provide more power and reduce transmission shift changes and "gear hunting." The Tow / Haul switch is located in the center stack of the instrument panel.
